Free Seminole pumpkin class includes seeds to take home October 9
The library session covers growing a Florida-adapted pumpkin, with no registration required.

Mount Dora gardeners can learn about Seminole pumpkins and leave with seeds at a free library class Friday, October 9. The session runs from 11 a.m. to noon in the Community Room at 1995 North Donnelly Street.
A native-plant expert will discuss a pumpkin adapted to Florida’s heat and humidity. The library’s notice frames the class as preparation for growing a future crop, including Thanksgiving next year, rather than a promise of a harvest this month.
No registration is required, and all attendees receive seeds. The Mount Dora Library Association sponsors the program. Adults who have questions can contact the library at 352-735-7180, option 5. The session offers a practical starting point for residents interested in adding a Florida food plant to their gardens.
